Today's lap and of course the scam segments that I am artfully creating, I would like to dedicate them to a runner who has gone to the headlines not so much for the sporting successes, but for the various positivity that have dotted his career. I would like to talk about the Swedish runner Niklas Axelsson who has played in several Italian teams such as Panaria, Formaggi Pinzolo and Serramenti Diquigiovanni. With a double positivity to the epoch, the good Niklas is barred from life by the world of cycling.
Another sacrificial victim of a sick system, where individual runners pass like rotten apples. This runner came back to me, regarding the extraordinary 2001 Giro di Lombardia, where he finished in third position beaten by Rumsas and Casagrande.
I presume Niklas will be cursed for life for failing to triumph in that edition. He lost that Lombardy even though he was the strongest runner in the race. His lack of ability in downhill and technical corners compromised him in the end of that race all the advantage that he had managed to accumulate with a wonderful action from a distance. Too bad Niklas perhaps with that victory his career would have profoundly changed.
